Dan Farough is a top political strategist known for running some of the most successful political and issue-advocacy campaigns in Michigan in some of the toughest environments. His understanding of the synergy between communications, media, research and field organizing has been instrumental in helping his clients stay on offense while putting opponents on defense.

Dan served both of Michigan’s two U.S. Senators in top leadership positions. Most recently Dan directed Senator Peters successful 2020 re-election campaign. Prior to that, Dan served as Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow and worked as her Campaign Manager in 2012, delivering a crushing 21-point victory. In 2010 Dan ran now-Senator Gary Peters’ grueling 2010 Congressional race, and was one of only four frontline battleground seats to successfully bring in a hard fought win in that tough cycle.

Farough was a leader in helping flip control of the State House to the Democrats in 2006 – the last time Democrats took the chamber - serving as Press Secretary for the House Democratic Caucus.

Dan is proud of his deep roots in the progressive and Democratic communities having founded Progress Michigan, a communications center for progressive organizations, and run issue-advocacy campaigns for some of the state's top non-profits.

Dan holds a M.A. in Political Science from the University of Toronto and a B.A. in History from Michigan State University.
